Photos from the October 22nd Beach Day
Aloha KORE Hui!!!! Mahalo to EVERYONE who participated at our Oct. 22nd Beach Day. The u’a started falling early and often and it was the blessing from above that made this Beach Day something special. When the sun did make its presence known at about 10:30 or 11:00 no one gave it another thought cuz the paina was already cranking! The grill was fired up, the music was grooving and everyone had a surfboard cruising in the bay. Our Beach Day was another culmination of weeks of behind the scenes networking to fulfill our mission to keep KORE thriving. First off, we Mahalo Suzie Woolway for grinding out our new website with the help of Ron Mayer. Same web address but a more up to date site. She also got us some groovy KORE t-shirt colors, so pick some up. Mahalo again to EVERYONE who shows up and to many of our first time volunteers, and there were many of you. It’s hard to start naming folks cuz we’re always going to forget some very important people, but for starters, the jamming kanikapila from the boyz, SJ for manning the surf desk, Jeana for manning the sign-in desk, Susan for donating the awesome kids books, Bruce Ishino for creating the new Balsa beauty that Sharon took on it’s maiden voyage, the whole Dukes gang for all the manpower and ono kau kau, Sharon Pancho for her endless energy and kind heart who put together the shark cartoons, the Kaua’i Lifeguard Association for their continued support of KORE and Jaime for also supporting us and representing Dukes with their unbelievable KORE donation.
Stay connected with KORE via the NEW website(korekauai.com) or Facebook ……and don’t forget to send us your pictures so everyone may enjoy them. Our next Beach Day will be NOVEMBER 19th and hope to see you there!
All in all, KORE does not exist without the continued support and friendship from all of you. You’ve been there, you’ve seen how it goes down; give a little, expect nothing in return and go home with so much, your heart is overwhelmed. We don’t take any of you or your talents for granted……….we can only humbly ask you to continue to support the KORE mission and send you our deepest Aloha, and…………. Mahalo for da ride!!
